In Memory of Karsten Ott – A respected Managing Director, colleague and friend

It is with deep sadness and sincere sympathy that we announce the passing of Karsten Ott, Managing Director of bilacon GmbH, after a serious illness.

For over three decades, Karsten Ott was a cornerstone of our company. Since joining bilacon in 1992, he played a vital role in shaping the development and growth of the laboratory. Until 2018, he led the Department of Instrumental Analysis with exceptional expertise before assuming responsibility for the Berlin site. In 2022, he was appointed Managing Director.

Since mid-2024, he had shared leadership of bilacon with Frank Barsch. The two complemented each other with their leadership skills and stood for stability, integrity, and professional excellence. Following Karsten Ott’s passing, Frank Barsch will continue to lead the company as sole Managing Director.

Karsten Ott was widely respected not only for his profound knowledge and strategic foresight, but also for his humanity, reliability, and genuine interest in the people he worked with. He earned the highest regard from colleagues, customers, and throughout the entire Tentamus Group.

His passing leaves a significant void – both professionally and personally. We will remember him as a dedicated leader, a trusted advisor, and a warm-hearted colleague.
